The Idaho Main Street Alliance believes that health care costs are stifling small businesses. We support Idaho in setting up a competitive marketplace where small businesses and individuals will be able to band together and shop for coverage. Recently, Governor Otter agreed to accept federal funds to develop an exchange for Idaho. This is great news and we commend the Governor for his action. But still, we think there is more to be done and are drafting comments to proposed legislation surrounding the exchange to ensure that Idaho’s exchange works well for Idahoans and small businesses.
The following public meetings contemplate what an exchange may look like for Idaho:
October 4, 2011 – Idaho Health Care Insurance Exchange Meeting from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
October 10, 2011 – House Health and Welfare Committee Meeting from 8:00 am to 10:00 am
All meetings are open to the public.
