The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of excitement. On Wednesday, June 22, 2011 Main Street Alli-ance (MSA) hosted a happy hour for members to get together and talk about current policy concerns for small businesses in Idaho. In the upcoming weeks MSA State Organizer, Heather Smith will be canvassing the Treasure Valley, Magic Valley and Wood River Valley for new MSA members and completing issue surveys with businesses to determine the policy issues that impact small businesses in Idaho.
In addition to canvassing efforts, the Main Street Alliance is involved developing a Health Insurance Ex-change for Idaho where small business owners and individuals will be able to bargain for affordable health insurance. A workgroup has been created to develop the legislation for an Idaho Health Insurance Exchange. All meetings of the Health Insurance Exchange Workgroup are open to the public and meeting minutes can be accessed at http://www.healthexchange.idaho.gov/.
We are always looking for new MSA members. If you are a business owner or know a business owner who may be interested in the work MSA does, please contact Heather Smith at email@example.com.
